The Iron Bride Hal Film Maker has really managed to create something magnificently crazy within Kemeko Deluxe; another new, wonderfully animated slap-in-the-face for this fall season. Kemeko DX is quintessentially a comedy, wrapped in action, smothered with fan-service and encased in a strange automated robot-doll-thing. Funnily enough, the automated robot-doll-thing is one of the central [...]
Macademi Wasshoi (Ep 1)

Somehow, a girl came out Macademi Wasshoi, translated as Magician’s Academy, began its life as a series of light novels by Ichiro Sakaki , published between 2003 and 2007. Its popularity has seen it recreated as two manga adaptations and a video game. The anime has been released in this year’s Fall Season and from [...]
Series Review – Myself; Yourself Ep 1-13

I thought I’d start my series wrap up reviews with Myself; Yourself. As you will see from my earlier reviews I am quite fond of this little series. After an interesting beginning with the mysterious Nanaka and annoying Aoi often taking centre stage, the series did delve into very different territory touching on incest, insanity, [...]
“Vampires, Wolves and Pantsu” Oh My!

It’s a new year so of course that means new anime and I’m sure we are all chomping at the bit. Besides the return of some old favourites Gunslinger Girl 2 and Minami-ke season 2, We’re treated to some new and exciting series. Rosario + Vampire A brand new series by GONZO based on the [...]
CLANNAD – Fuuko Arc ep 4-9

Ok as I fell behind with my episode reviews I’ve decided to do them by story arc instead. The first story arc in CLANNAD was Fuuko Ibuki the little girl with an obsession with starfish, *sobs* I want to be in the starfish alliance too. When we first meet Fuuko it’s rumored she’s a ghost, [...]
Clannad – Episode 03

After a week of waiting impatiently I finally watched Clannad Episode 3 and what can I say this show really doesn’t disappoint. Clannad is fast becoming the highlight of my anime week and I don’t mind saying I love this show. Kyoto animation seem to have managed to put everything that was right about their [...]
Myself; Yourself – Episodes 01 – 02

Myself; Yourself is a sweet little harem/comedy show for the season. Personally I am getting good vibes from this show, it’s nice when the storyline is linear and straightforward. The art style is pleasing on the eye and the storyline seems to be enough to keep viewers gripped for the full 13 episodes. The opening [...]
Blue Drop – Episodes 01 – 02

Blue Drop is in my eyes the wildcard of the season. After all you don’t get many sci-fi, yuri shows (ok there was Simoun) but in a season crammed with Harem and Gundam it’s nice to have a change. What’s distinctly different about Blue Drop from the outset is the subtlety of animation, there appears [...]
Shakugan No Shana II – Episode 02

The second episode of Shakugan No Shana and it’s already obvious there’s all out war between Shana and Kazumi for the affections of Yuji. The show opens with Shana in the Kitchen with Chigusa, (Yuji’s mother) then a flashback to the previous day at school with Kazumi giving a lunch she’d prepared to Yuji. Shana [...]
Shakugan No Shana II – Episode 01

The second season of Shakugan no Shana aptly named Shakugan no Shana : Second, is one of the action titles on this seasons fall calendar. For all of the fans of the first season this is a return to the same tried and tested formula. Tsunderekko (seems to be my word of the month) Shana [...]
Clannad – Episode 02

The second episode of Clannad begins with Nagisa standing under the street light surrounded by an angelic glow saying “this is the city where wishes come true”. She claims she’s reciting lines from a play in hopes it will spur her on to restart the theatre club at school. Tomoya seems happy she’s taken his [...]
Clannad – Episode 01

The show starts with a monologue from the main protagonist Tomoya about how he hates where he lives, the animation is set as if in a memory sequence a very dark and gloomy with a blue hue over the world.
Rental Magica – Preview

Another new show this fall season for those missing a good fantasy/crime solving title is Rental Magica, from ZEXCS based on the light novel by Makoto Sanda. The animation from what I’ve seen from the preview looks great, Lots of very cute character designs and light hearted fun to keep viewers entertained. The opening song [...]
Blue Drop – Preview

In 1995, all 800 habitants of the isolated Kamikakushi Island vanished in one night, all but a single girl who has no memory of what happened. The causes of the disappearances were never identified. Four years later the girl named Mari Wakatake who is the only survivor of the events transfers to a girl’s dormitory school, which is where she first encounters Hagino.
Ef – A tale of memories – Preview

The Character designs are very appealing as with all of SHAFT’s work and from the preview there is definitely an interesting and atmospheric story line to go with the beautiful animation. The opening song is “euphoric field” by Tenmon feat. ELISA.
