This year’s Tokyo Game Show is an opportunity for many games companies to showcase their upcoming projects. As such, there are plenty of trailers being screened for the press and public to view. Here’s a quick overview of some of the PC games shown at the event so far.
Prince of Persia
Developer: Ubisoft Montreal
Publisher: Ubisoft
It seems they’ve gone for a different style in this incarnation of the popular action-adventure series. It will be available across multiple platforms from the 4th December 2008.
Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X
Developer: Ubisoft Romania
Publisher: Ubisoft
This combat flight simulator was announced back in July and is supposedly part of the same universe as Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter. It is estimated to be released across multiple platforms in the first quarter of 2009.
Far Cry 2
Developer: Ubisoft Montreal
Publisher: Ubisoft
Ubisoft certainly seem to be busy with the big titles this year and here they bring the sandbox first-person shooter sequel to Far Cry: Crytek, abandoning the sci-fi elements in favour of realism. The game is due for release on multiple platforms on the 24th October 2008.
Bionic Commando
Developer: GRIN
Publisher: Capcom
This is the direct sequel to the second game of the Bionic Commando series, released back in 1988. This action game allows the player to swing, the main mechanic of Bionic Commando, through Ascension City and other locales whilst taking out foes. It is estimated for a 2009 release date across multiple platforms.
Street Fighter IV
Developer: Dimps/Capcom
Publisher: Capcom
The lastest instalment in the fighting game series sees backgrounds rendered in 3D, whilst the gameplay takes place on the traditional 2D plane. The game is expected to be released across multiple platforms late 2008 or early 2009.
More trailers to follow as and when they become available.
