Yes you have heard right, Nintendo has committed itself to have quite a big splash with Wii Music coming out on 14th November and now Animal Crossing to be in time for Christmas 2008 in Europe. Not only that, Nintendo has announced that there will be a new title for the game - Animal Crossing: Let’s Go to the City in Europe.

Does this mean that we won’t be able to play with characters in the USA or visit their towns? Time will tell but I really hope we can, yet I have a feeling that Nintendo will region lock the games like their previous titles. However what will be certain is that the game will also be released with the new Wii Speak peripheral which will allow for the first time gamers to have voice chats to each other in the game. Wii Speak will also be available separately and hopefully future games on the console will utilise it as most will know, being able to speak during online games certainly helps the social and indeed the strategy within the game.

The fact that it is online though is a huge coup and will add exta value in the already popular videogame franchise. Hopefully there will be downloadable content too which will keep the game fresh and more holiday events and it could really be the killer app which turns out to be the first MMO videogame for the Nintendo Wii. Even if it looks exactly like the Gamecube version.
