Sony and Microsoft rock together

For anyone that has followed the Guitar Hero/Rock Band fiasco about controllers not working with rival products it was announced today that Sony and Microsoft have agreed that it is in the best interests for the consumer that instruments like Guitars, Drumkits, Microphones and other peripherals will all be compatible with each other.

This means that PS3 versions of Rock Band 2, Guitar Hero: World Tour, Rock Revolution and Singstar can all co-exist with the same hardware. Microsoft has followed suit confirming that titles from Activision Blizzard, MTV Games and Konami will also have similar support.

Great news indeed as really, it would cost a pretty penny just to have separate drum kits, guitars and more just to play your favourite game so I’m glad such companies have seen the light.
