Resident Evil: Degeneration

Its been in the pipeline for some time but here is the trailer for Capcom’s CG animated movie of the Resident Evil franchise. Taking place seven years after the Raccoon City disaster, the t-Virus nightmare was supposed to have ended… Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield find themselves joining forces to solve the issue once more, whilst blowing up some zombies in the process.

The trailer looks good and while the CG isn’t at Pixar quality I’m sure the budget was a lot less. The main thing though is that it seems to have captured the spirit of Resident Evil, namely the seminal fourth version so I really hope the storyline is up to scratch and that it offers a stronger viewing than the recent live action adaptations.

Hmmm… I am more impressed by the main photos with so many Claire Redfields than the trailer to the CGI movie. :P

The promo looks interesting but I find the CGI too artificial - the human expressions and movement look too robotic. It can’t match the quality of Pixar or even Dreamworks Animation.

Still it seems promising and is more faithful to the video game unlike the Milla Jovovich’s movies.
