It was announced during E3 at Los Angeles that Square-Enix will indeed be releasing Final Fantasy XIII on Microsoft’s XBOX360! This is the first time that such a large franchise like this, especially from Square-Enix will be multiplatform. This move however makes perfect sense in the current climate where it becomes increasingly more difficult to sell games on only a single platform. With this Square-Enix can establish their userbase much wider than just on the Playstation 3, while Sony must be hurting as yet another exclusive is taken away from them. Certainly is shaping up well and the battle system looks a lot more active than previously, perhaps on the same level as the recent Crisis Core to keep the pace flowing. Its a great catch though for Microsoft who no doubt has paid a bit to Square-Enix to make sure the title arrives on their flagship console. With Sony reluctant now to be paying up for exclusive content (a-la GTA4) could this be the start of other exclusive titles moving over?
