Japanese Nintendo Wii owners get DS connectivity!

How lucky are the Japanese right now. While I’m enjoying Mario Party, Phoenix Wright and Final Fantasy XII: Revanant Wings on the DS, Nintendo Wii owners in the Land of the Rising Sun are now able to download demos from their console to their Nintendo DS via wireless. What demo’s are available is currently unknown but at least the ball is rolling an we no longer have to seek out a kiosk to grab the latest demo’s to try out.

The new channel is called Everybody’s Nintendo Channel and currently I am unaware of USA and European dates for a rollout. I’m looking forward though to this feature as it should increase the features more for Nintendo if owners are lucky enough to own both the Wii and DS. I can also see this possibly used with the new WiiWare, possibly some developers making freebies for the fans to play on the DS or perhaps an application where you can use the DS as a controller for the Wii.

I for one would love to see such an application as I’d rather write on the DS and for it to appear onscreen than using the Wii Remote. I know you can use a USB keyboard now but if you have a DS then why not use it also?
