There has been many Nintendo Wii Remote hacks from controlling Google Earth, using it as a lightsaber, playing PC FPS, and even use it like drums. This one though looks like to have some potential for people who just love to air guitar.

Check it out and tell me what you think. If you want to try this out yourself then pop over to his website listed in the video to grab the required files. You do need a bluetooth adapter and Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 to make the magic happen.
If he could incorporate the notes to be played automatically but keep the timing and strumming to the user, then it would be the killer Air Guitar app that some might be looking for…

How lucky are the Japanese right now. While I’m enjoying Mario Party, Phoenix Wright and Final Fantasy XII: Revanant Wings on the DS, Nintendo Wii owners in the Land of the Rising Sun are now able to download demos from their console to their Nintendo DS via wireless. What demo’s are available is currently unknown but at least the ball is rolling an we no longer have to seek out a kiosk to grab the latest demo’s to try out.
The new channel is called Everybody’s Nintendo Channel and currently I am unaware of USA and European dates for a rollout. I’m looking forward though to this feature as it should increase the features more for Nintendo if owners are lucky enough to own both the Wii and DS. I can also see this possibly used with the new WiiWare, possibly some developers making freebies for the fans to play on the DS or perhaps an application where you can use the DS as a controller for the Wii.
I for one would love to see such an application as I’d rather write on the DS and for it to appear onscreen than using the Wii Remote. I know you can use a USB keyboard now but if you have a DS then why not use it also?

Massive update for you Nokia N95 owners! The last firmware version was 12.0.0.14 (only available to Asian continents oddly enough) however there is now a European firmware update which slaps it up to 20.0.0.15! To find out what version you are currently on just press these keys on the standby screen - *#0000#
Changes added to the new firmware
* New Welcome application
* New camera software and tweaks from the 8GB model - FAR faster shot to shot time, with ‘Processing image message’ during any delays. I suspect the image processing algorithms have changed too, to remove some of the remaining artificial edge enhancement in the v12 firmware.
* Long press on camera button launches camera if shutter is open
* New My Nokia SMS tips and mobile web portal system
* Demand paging (for ROM applications) with 30 plus MB free RAM after booting.
* Search 4.0 integration on standby screen.
* Old multimedia menu still there, i.e. it’s not the new style
* N-Gage game previews (FIFA, Asphalt) and portal/shortcut to upcoming N-Gage client, as in N81 and N95 8GB
* Nokia Music Store client, although the store server hasn’t been updated to handle the N95 yet - maybe this’ll happen later today
* Keypress bug gone(!), I think
* No auto-screen rotation
* Assorted other minor tweaks, along the same lines as the N95 8GB, with video ringtones, theme animations and a Circles Music Player visualisation.
Just to note your provider (Vodafone, O2 etc) might not have their branded firmware updated to this latest version just yet. I will post a guide on how to change that though soon… I’ll try and write more mobile phone news as it hits to keep up to date!

After months and months of speculation about a Live action Dragon Ball movie, it has been confirmed that there will be a movie in the works with a huge budget. The movie based on Akira Toriyama’s original Manga is set to be released in Summer 2008.
As for announced characters so far, the character Goku will be played by Justin Chatwin who is probably most known by as the teenager in War of the Worlds and a special guest appeareance in Lost. Piccolo is to be played by James Marsters who is mainly known for Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer tv series.

Initially I was skeptical but after realising James Wong was directing and Stephen Chow was producing I realised that this could have some, if not alot of potential. If anyone is unfamiliar with the two, Stephen Chow is best known for Shaolin Soccer and Kung Fu hustle, two pretty damn good films if I say so myself, also two films with a style of frenetic action that is aesthetically brilliant which could be very adaptable to the Dragon Ball film depending on how much influence Stephen Chow has on the film. James Wong directed Final Destination 1 and 3, these films I thought were decent but not great, they also involve scenarios of fast paced danger which again could be ideal for the film.
So far I’m unaware as to what the plot will involve, whether it will closely follow the original plot or take ideas and create a totally new story.

Karaoke fans rejoice as Sony as pretty much confirmed the pricing and release date of their much anticipated title. Come December 7th you will be able to enjoy singing along to 44 tracks of which can be downloaded for a fee of 99p each. There are two versions as well. A stand alone version of the game comes in at £24.99 while the game and two microphones retails at £49.99. Here is the tracklisting though that comes with the game…
All The Small Things - Blink 182
Coffee & TV - Blur
Toxic - Britney Spears
Fix You - Coldplay
Feel Good Inc. - Gorillaz
Cool - Gwen Stafani
Move Your Feet - Junior Senior
I Try - Macy Grey
Pass The Dutchie - Musical Youth
So-Sick - Ne-Yo
No Tomorrow - Orson
Hey Ya - OutKast
Movin’ On Up - Primal Scream
Beep - Pussycat Dolls
No Surprises - Radiohead
America - Razorlight
Losing My Religion - REM
Something Stupid - Robbie Williams & Nicole Kidman
I Don’t Feel Like Dancing - Scissor Sisters
Alright - Supergrass
Monster - The Automatic
Lovefool - The Cardigans
Chelsea Dagger - The Fratellis
Mr Brightside - The Killersong
She Bangs The Drum - The Stone Roses
Valerie - The Zutons
We’re Not Gonna Take It - Twisted Sister
Beautiful Day - U2
Buddy Holly - Weezer
Love Train - Wolfmother
This is a huge title for Sony as it caters for the casual gamer and because it relies on digital downloads it is a self sustaining title where to keep things fresh, users simply download more songs. No news if the download cost of 99p includes the music video too or is at an extra cost. Combine this with the Home network then it could be interesting with online gameplay.
Singstar for the PS3 though has been suspended indefinitely in the USA probably due to licensing issues to Europe should be glad to get this title intact and in time for some festive singing!

A decade after the seminal Mario 64 comes the spiritual sequel on the Nintendo Wii - Mario Galaxy. In the running for videogame of the year, Nintendo’s mascot has done it again bringing something fresh to the table and showing that there is still life in the platforming genre.
Sadly for me though I can’t play on it just yet to review but I hope I can very soon! A decade is a very long time to wait… Once I get my mitts on it though I shall give a run-down on what looks to be the best Mario game yet and for some time to come. For those lucky people who have played it, what are your thoughts?

I have decided last week that it was time to move one from Windows XP + SP2 to the new Windows Vista Ultimate build now that I knew the programs I often used don’t have as many issues. Originally when trying out Vista Ultimate, there were many programs that I used that were not 100% compatible - MSN refused to connect, FireFox crashed and would never load up (even more so when set to the default browser), Sound drivers were damaged and I couldn’t find compatible local server software.
Now though all that has changed. Firefox has been updated rapidly, MSN is now behaving, the sound Driver in Vista is actually pretty sweet and all the other smaller programs I need to work just do. The time to make the jump much like from Windows 2000 to XP needs to be made. Will things go smoothly and will Vista perform?
