While the game will be delayed until Jan 2008 in Japan, Nintendo has announced that Sega’s flagship character will be spinning his way onto the Nintendo Wii, joining the ranks of Mario, Samus, Link and Snake!
Not much else is know in terms of movelist however it has been reported he can turn into Super Sonic, possibly turning gold in the process a-la Goku from DragonBall Z. This should please fans even though the game has been delayed.
WiFi online play is being tweaked on and there is still no true confirmation that the game will be region locked in terms of online play too… I hope it’s not but I can see Nintendo making sure it does. Other news tidbits which have been released previously were that there is a “Free for All” mode where anyone can connect to battle without a Friends Code, however the statistics will not be recorded - Its pretty much an online Exhibition match. No word on Ladder Matches and Personal Tournaments just yet but lets hope Nintendo get things right as I know many fans are eager to start letting loose on those smashes…

First it was the Olympics, now you can fight against each other in SSBB. Personally, I can’t wait to kick Sonic’s sorry little ass with my mullet man a.k.a. Solid Snake! ^_^
Real shame that the game is delayed until 2008…
