Another update to the popular console. This time the update allows users to send links to friends and copy text from pages in the Internet Channel - Useful for pasting into the Search field. Other changes include:
* USB keyboard compatible
* Links received on the Wii message board now open in Internet Channel
Other than that not much else is known. In a recent press announcement Nintendo are planning to expand the functionality and use of the Voting Channel so users can give feedback on certain titles. Its a clever way of doing free Research and Development really however I do worry because the market that the Nintendo Wii is aimed at might say some games are still too difficult which could have an impact on future titles like Mario and Zelda. It would be nice if Nintendo made new IP for the casual market and keep the loyal fans happy with Zelda, Mario and possibly other titles. For example, Kirby would be a prime candidate to lure and spearhead casual gamers. Why it hasn’t been used thus far remains to be seen as HAL usually co-produce Kirby games thesedays…

Have touched my Wii (err… should I rephrase that?!) for quite a while. Nice to see an update on the system but like you said NeoBlade, nothing all that special with this new update.
At least the added USB keyboard support is great for typing out messages. Was a real pain to input the individual letters with the Wiimote…
Need to test out the new Voting Channel. Might rig it for Animal Crossing and Super Monkey Ball games!
