Publisher Take-Two have just announced that the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto IV – heading to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platform - will be delayed from its original scheduled October release date. How come? Take-Two chairman Strauss Zelnick said: “certain elements of development proved to be more time-intensive than expected.”
So it’s taking longer then expected to design and develop..? If you read between the lines commented by Zelnick… or maybe there is a problem between creating the free roaming action game for two distinctive consoles who are fighting for exclusive content. Whatever the true reason, the delay to GTAIV will hit hard for Rockstar Games and video gamers.
So when will GTAIV be available? Take-Two aims to release the game in the second fiscal quarter of 2008, or between February and April of 2008.

Apparently, the reason for the delay of Grand Theft Auto IV is due to the difficulty of programming the game on the PlayStation 3’s CELL processor. Rockstar Games need more time to finalise the gaming engine to work with Sony’s powerful console.
Hopefully when the game does get release sometime in 2008, it will be the best in the series.
