Wow, momentum must be in full flow as the UK is recognising that anime goes beyond Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! Following in the footsteps of the Cambridge Film Festival, the British Museum in London will be showing these anime for FREE! That’s right you heard it correctly, free viewing! The only thing required is that you must book in advance, a small price to pay indeed!
* Naruto The Movie: Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow (28th July)
* Porco Rosso (4th August)
* Nausicaä of the Valley of Wind (11th August)
* Phoenix 2772 - Space Firebird (7th September)
* Barefoot Gen (13th September)
* Akira (14th September)
* They Were Eleven (21st September)
* Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - Solid State Society (28th September)
* Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence (29th September)
It’s quite a good list there and should cater for different tastes. Would anyone be willing to go? I am quite tempted myself and would love to do a writeup for some of these and see how fans in London perceive animé and its growing popularity.
