The popular survival horror game from Capcom, Resident Evil 4, will be remade featuring the unique control system available on the Nintendo Wii. The original game was a hit on the GameCube and was later release for the PlayStation 2.
By resurrecting the Resident Evil franchise, Capcom promises that all the game playing elements will be featured in the new Wii version (set for release this summer). Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition, as it will be known, will benefit the use of the console’s motion-sensing controller like running and shooting. In a similar way to Nintendo’s The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
Eventually, the Wii will get its own instalment of Resident Evil with The Umbrella Chronicles. This new game focuses on a new chapter in the series that revisits the settings of the first three games and the Resident Evil 0 prequel.
The Umbrella Chronicles will also include new locations and according to Capcom, it will feature “lightgun-style combat with interactive pathways.” No details on release date for The Umbrella Chronicles is available at time of writing.
