Devil May Cry 4 goes multiplatform

Devil May Cry 4

Capcom’s action adventure game Devil May Cry 4 is no longer a PlayStation 3 exclusive. It will now appear on the Xbox 360 and PC. This latest news is another nail in the coffin for Sony as it is losing out in its exclusivity with gaming publishers.

So why did Capcom do this? Let Mark Beanmont explain:

“Capcom is committed to making its titles available to as wide an audience as possible, and has been building its technology base to meet that goal. This announcement means that PS3, Xbox 360 and PC owners worldwide will be able to experience the latest instalment of one of Capcom’s pillar franchises.”

It will be interesting to see each version of the same game running on different platforms, offering advanced graphical capabilities on the next-gen systems. In additional, can we expect more publishers to move away from exclusivity and release a multi-format game available for all?
