LeSportsac, an American leading brand in casual nylon material bags, is releasing new patterns for their tokidoki line for spring 2007. tokidoki is a very popular brand, with the designs mainly being influenced from Japanese anime, “kawaii”ness (or, the cuteness craze) like Sanrio characters, and is characterized by the usage of vibrant and bright colors combined with cute animals, trendy and fashionable Japanese women, with an occasional hint of a “traditional” image or icon from Japanese culture, such as geisha, cherry blossoms, or even the Japanese flag.
The artist of tokidoki is Italian artist Simone Legno, who began designing tokidoki for LeSportsac in 2005. Since then, every season has had at least two different kinds of designs for LeSportsac bags, with this spring also featuring two: Adios Star with grim reaper stars combined with other smiling characters, and Pirata where sea creatures, cute pirates, and animals can all be seen smiling and playing in the sea. Tokidoki has also announced that new designs should be released every two months consecutively after the spring line.
In addition, tokidoki also has other items in this brand name, including clothing, makeup, shoes, toy figures of characters, watches, jewelry, and even iPod skins. Hi Laura ^_^ I have had a look around and there doesn’t seem to be an official UK resaler for their products which is a shame. They do look pretty cool. If I get word of any of these products being sold in the UK officially (rather than via auctions) then I will keep you posted!
