Apparently ASDA are creating quite a fuss once again as they do promotional work to shift more electronics. Previously they sold a DVD player at £9 and it seems they will be selling PS2’s for £50 tomorrow in most of their stores. I have no idea if your local ASDA will carry the offer but I thought I would pass along the message anyway. Happy hunting!

Woot! I bought one from our nearest Asdas this morning for £49 (of course, I called them up beforehand to check if they were participating in the offer and was surprised they had any left around 9:30am!). Hooked it up as soon as I got home and played Final Fantasy VII for about an hour as it was the only game lurking around the house at the time.
The one that’s on sale is the PS2 Slimline, which is smaller, lighter and quieter than the original PS2. It comes with one analog controller and the necessary componants to get you gaming. It also has an in-built network adapter, which allows you to take the experience to the ‘net.
The version involved in the offer is black, although there is a silver one avaliable (not included in the offer) which is more expensive than its darker counterpart, even if sold at its full price.
Despite it having a rather fragile-looking lid, you can hardly complain about bagging such a slick console for less than 50 quid.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna get my game on. ^__~b
