The sequel to the most controversial and violent stealth action game Manhunt will be heading towards Sony’s PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable, and surprisingly Nintendo’s Wii this summer.
Take-Two announced the new snuff film-slash-video game this week with development split between two departments at Rockstar. Rockstar London, will develop the PS2 and PSP versions with a helping hand from the original Manhunt team, Rockstar North. While for the Wii, this will be led by Rockstar Toronto (who made The Warriors).
“With Manhunt 2 we have tried to create a game that stays close to the original concept of chilling suspense and stealth, whilst pushing the game design and storytelling forward,” said Rockstar co-founder Sam Houser.
It will be interesting how the Wii Remote and Nunchuk will be implemented into Manhunt 2 – perhaps a stylish, but brutally way of strangling strangers in back alleyways?
