With the news that Capcom’s zombie-fest survival horror video game selling over a million copies worldwide for the Xbox 360, the game publisher is willing to create some new sequels that might be available on other consoles in the near future.
Mark Beaumont, executive vice president and head of consumer software for Capcom, said to video game website GamesIndustry.biz: “When you’re at the front-end of a hardware cycle, people are willing to take more of an experiment in what games they’ll try.”
“Bringing out Dead Rising has allowed us to establish a new franchise that we can use for years to come,” he added.
It’s refreshing to see brand new franchises take off and it certainly helps that the popularity of Dead Rising means it’s Capcom’s 41st video game title to sell over one million.
Hopefully the issue regarding small and difficult text on screen for non-HD users will be resolve.
