On January 10th, RedOctane is expected to make an announcement on details regarding the forthcoming Xbox 360 release of Guitar Hero II. Among them is the confirmation of a March 2007 release date.
The guitar-based rhythm game has been a surprising hit on Sony’s PlayStation 2 and with the Xbox 360 version, new features has been added including High Definition graphics and ten exclusive tunes (74 in total compared to the PlayStation 2 Guitar Hero II with 64).
RedOctane’s announcement is expected to reveal five of them (and the artists that made them famous):
Billion Dollar Babies (Alice Cooper)
Dead! (My Chemical Romance)
Hush (Deep Purple)
Life Wasted (Pearl Jam)
Rock N Roll Hoochie Koo (Rick Derringer)
As for the other tracks, there maybe a possibility that Possum Kingdom (Toadies), Salvation (Rancid) and The Trooper (Iron Maiden), will be featured on the track list.
Additionally, Xbox Live will let would-be rockers to download the original songs from the first Guitar Hero as well as the ability to purchase new songs in the future.
