The first two Metal Gear Solid (named AC!D) on the PlayStation Portable received mix reviews, with some commenting the turn-based and card influenced game play moved away from the stealth action we have grown to love on every previous Snake adventure.
With Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, the action goes back to its roots with a blend of stealth and hand-to-hand combat. Control issues aside, this new game looks promising.
And if the new Metal Gear Solid sells well when it goes on sale, then don’t be surprise to see a sequel, cashing in on the success.
If fact, Ryan Payton, assistant producer for the Kojima Productions game and host of The Kojima Productions Report, said: “If [Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops is] successful on the retail level there will definitely be a sequel.”
So it all comes down to the buying public. Buy enough copies and Solid Snake will be back for more.
