Great news for animé fans in the UK! Gilgamesh and Cromartie High School will premier on January 5th at 8:30 pm and January 7th at 6pm on the UK’s Rockworld TV (Sky channel 368). For those who are not familiar with these animés then let me fill in a few gaps…
Cromartie High School is an offbeat, crazy, parody filled comedy which follows the eventful life of Takashi Kamiyama, the only “non” delinquent in the school Cromartie High that is full of them. At this school though logic denotes that because he isn’t a fully fledged delinquent he is therefore the toughest person in the school… And this is one where you have a class which contains a fully grown gorilla, a robot who thinks he’s human and Freddie Mercury. I kid you not. Very funny, entertaining and twisted so if you like this sort of animé and love to pick out the references then you will love Cromartie High School.
Gilgamesh takes place in a world where the sky has been replaced by a mirror like surface and no known electronics longer function. Due to “that” accident at the Twin X factory the environment has been like it, however there are some special children with unique abilities that were born after that event that allows them to alter their surroundings. With such mystical powers the story centres on a brother and sister, Tatsuya and Koyoko, the children of a scientist at the Twin X facility as they embark on a journey to figure out what exactly happened and what can be done about it.
