Over the weekend, there has been a real buzz on the Internet regarding Konami’s Tactical Espionage Action game, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.
The rumours are over Solid Snake’s new stealth mission would be appearing on Microsoft’s Xbox 360 instead of Sony’s PlayStation 3 console.
Why on Xbox 360? Perhaps the software publisher Konami is trying to expand its main ‘brand’ to different format over concerns that there won’t be enough PlayStation 3s when it goes on sale… Or it is worried about the rising cost of developing this new game as a ‘flagship’ model promotion the power of the PlayStation?
Whatever the reasons, Konami has debunked this rumour of moving to one format over the other.
“Konami has no plans to bring Metal Gear Solid 4 to the Xbox 360 at this time,” a Konami representative said. Hideo Kojima’s game would be “exclusive to PlayStation 3.”
That maybe the official word from the company, but you can’t discount it. There is a possibility that we will see Solid Snake action on Microsoft’s console sometime soon once the ‘exclusivity’ contract expires in a few months after the game launch.
