Taiyo Matsumoto’s Black & White Animé release

Taiyo Matsumoto’s Tekkon Kinkreet (aka Black & White)
is the very same manga masterpiece started in 1993 as a serially publication in Weekly Big Comic Spirits (like Crying Freeman, Maison Ikkoku, Tokyo Love Story, among many others ) .

This december the 23rd will finally see the release of the Animé version in Tokyos theaters, 7 years after the the first pilot movie was made.
An awesome dream team ’s been cast around Studio4°C, including Hinji Kimura (Steamboy) , the animator Shoujirou Nishimi (Akira, Mind Game) and the technical director Hiroaki Ando (Steamboy).

To celebrate the event, PingMag met Eiko Tanaka, the woman presides the animation studio (who was behind My Neighbor Totoro as well), and cooked with resfest a great article showing the behind the scenes, with tons of infos on the making of, many original artworks and process videos to look at.     No thank you… Steamboy was enough to put me asleep. take one dose of steamboy with two doses of cyanide.

    Steamboy was indeed awful but this animé is pretty stunning. Simon watched it while he was in Japan and this is one title I’m looking forward to.
