
Shortages of Nintendo Wii consoles around Europe have left some gamers who pre-ordered the new game system frustrated.
Nintendo, which has already launched the game system in America and Japan, said it expected to sell out of Wiis on the first day of sales.
More than four million Nintendo Wiis will be shipped globally this year, and 50,000 were sold in the UK in the first 12 hours (in other words, one sold every second!)
With so many people demanding the Nintendo Wii on the first day, December 8th, it is not surprising that the Japanese firm couldn’t meet the demands of supplying enough units.
Nintendo are determined to restock the extremely popular gaming system as quickly as it can.
Predictably, many of the Wiis ended up on online auction site eBay, with high closing bids of £500 (nearly USD $1000), compared to the retail price of £180 ($350)…
