Yep, the official 2.0 release of this hugely popular and powerful browser is amongst us! Well what’s new in Firefox2? Heres a small sample taken from their homepage - Mozilla.com
Built-in phishing protection: Phishing Protection warns users when they encounter suspected Web forgeries, and offers to return the user to their home page. Phishing Protection is turned on by default, and works by checking sites against either a local or online list of known phishing sites. This list is automatically downloaded and regularly updated when the Phishing Protection feature is enabled.
Inline spell checking: A new built-in spell checker enables users to quickly check the spelling of text entered into Web forms (like this one) without having to use a separate application.
And much more. Be sure to read the official Firefox page here for more details. Go download… NOW!

Ok I’m impressed. Even beeing a fan of FF,
I must admit I was a bit worried of loosing stuff in the upgrade process.
Guess what ?
I got it installed in 2 seconds, My Bookmarks still are at the same place and my extensions too : )
Awesome ain’t it. : )
2 extensions are disabled though as the developers didn’t upgrade their thing.
I gonna wait a few days, then will try a trick I found to get old extensions working anyway ; )
note: I noticed there is a spell checker now. Good news for me and the few who are kind or bored enough to read what I type : )

Help me please…
Oct 27, 2006, 9:57 pmI just installed Firefox 2.0, and all of a sudden, my username/password isn't being inserted in the signon window (it always was before). I tried the usual suspects–I did not mistakenly tell FF not to remember the password for this site; and I also tried the remember password bookmarklet, but all to no avail–FF will not ask me to remember this password. What do I need to do to get around this?

Sorry about the deley in replies, our anti-spam plugin was a bit too tight.
Hope you have solved your FireFox 2.0 issue Jameson, if not you can set FireFox again to remember passwords. Tools > Options > Security > Passwords.
As for 3rd party cookies usually a decent firewall will do that for you athough I have not searched for a plug-in that can do it for you just yet. Maybe a new one has been developed?
