The Who singer Roger Daltrey will star in an episode of hit American series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, according to reports.
Daltrey is set to guest star in the CBS crime drama, but producers are keeping details of his character a secret, says trade paper the Hollywood Reporter.
Songs by The Who serve as theme tunes for the original Las Vegas-based CSI and spin-offs, CSI: Miami and CSI: NY.
The rock band, currently on tour in the US, releases their latest album Endless Wire on 31 October.
Daltrey is not new to the acting scene as he was nominated for a Golden Globe for his portrayal in the 1975 adaptation of rock opera, Tommy.
He has also appeared on stage in musicals including A Christmas Carol and The Wizard of Oz.
Producers called the forthcoming CSI performance “a surprise role that will keep viewers guessing”.
The band is best known for their 1960s hits such as My Generation and I Can See For Miles. The tour is their first world tour for 20 years.
