When a violent bank robbery by a vicious gang of punks ends in bloodshed, cocky Hong Kong police inspector Wing (played by the fantastic Jackie Chan) vows to arrest the culprits.
Instead, the gang wipes out Wing’s entire team, plunging Wing into an alcoholic depression. A year later, it’s up to rookie cop Fung (Nicholas Tse) to get him back on his feet, as they team up together to track down the gang.
The New Police Story seems to have a darker feel to Chan’s original movies he made in the mid 1980s and 90s. I do enjoy Chan’s stunt work and this new film looks great.
The film opens this week.

Bought the official HK DVD upon release and it isn’t too bad with some trademark stunts and that from Jackie Chan. Its a decent watch but nothing earth shattering as such… I’d like a return though of Armor of God personally as that series was good fun.

He is doing a lot of crazy action sfuff in this movie, and looks really down and miserable in the start.
I ‘ve been quiteimpressed by the implication of the actor.
I’ve read that he gave so much in this movie as a payback for all the weak stuff he had made in the previous years.
the 2 second male leads are quite …cut..interesting too ^_^
