This will be the only double-day blog I do as the fast pace of Tokyo caught up with me on the last day there. I went to Harajuku with a monster hangover and because of this I missed the goths hanging out on the bridge so it was another day spent shopping. Managed to pick up some cheap CDs in the excellent shop Book-Off (anime tracks from only 60p!) and then back to hotel to pack and get an early night.
Spent the next morning travelling to Kyoto on the Shinkansen (Bullet Train) which covered around miles in just over 2 hours. This is about the distance from London to Edinburgh. I doubt British Rail could cover the same distance in that amount of time! When arriving in Kyoto we explored the local area (kyoto Station) and visited a traditional fan shop, where they are hand-made. We also made a visit to the incredibly underwhelming Kyoto Tower which is a throwback to rubbish 70’s design. The arcade inside was rubbish (as were all the shops) containing such dire titles as Virtua Racing and Rage Racer. The newest machine there was Tekken Tag! This is shocking for a Japanese arcade.
Another early night tonight as we plan to walk up a mountian tomorrow (more on this tomorrow!) and really immerse myself in some culture. Sorry for the slightly short blog today but I will make up for it tomorrow!

Hehe, yeah some pictures are on the way once he finds a cable for his camera. Should be sweet though to see, even if the weather isn’t too great over there right now.
I bet he’s been off looking for some moe action as well
