Google to acquire YouTube for $1.6 billion?

YouTube

Google, the world’s most popular search engine, is reported to be in talks to buy the extremely successful video-sharing website YouTube for $1.6bn (£856m).

The deal would cement YouTube’s reputation as one of the Internet’s fastest success stories since the dot com boom. The site was established 18 months ago in a Californian garage by Chad Hurley, 29, and Steve Chen, 27. They came up with an idea to share video files online, which has now become one of the world’s most popular websites, with 29,000 new clips downloaded every day.

Neither Google nor YouTube would comment on the reports, which surfaced on an industry blog, TechCrunch. The Wall Street Journal said a “person familiar with the matter” had confirmed talks were under way but at a sensitive stage.

    Hi Dallas.

Grab FireFox and make sure you have the latest Flash version installed - http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/alternates/

    https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/plugins/

Also update the shockwave software just incase. I had this issue once before on my sister’s PC but solved it by updating the software. See if this works for you, if not pop back and we’ll try something else ^_^
