The hugely successful animé Naruto is now airing in the UK on the Sky Channel Jetix everyday at 8pm. It has been airing since July 22nd so yeah I’m a little late in terms of this news, however the dub hasn’t been overly great nor have the edits. For those who don’t know what Naruto is, read on…
Naruto follows the life of a young boy striving to fit into society and to become a Ninja. His presence brings bad vibes from the local people of Konoha not because of they boy himself, but of what he has inherited. Before Naruto was born, there was a war waged by the great demon Kyuubi against the village Konoha which resulted in many deaths. To combat the demon Kyuubi the strongest Ninja in the village Yondamie (given the title Hokage) faced off against the demon God and sealed the evil using his life. To further seal this evil power for the power of good it was invested into the body of a newly born child.
That child was Uzumaki Naruto but as he grew up, the villagers only saw the demon Kyuubi within him. Due to this the other children, parents and people kepts away from Naruto who was deemed as an outcast. That then gave Naruto the motivation to become the next Hokage so people can be proud of him and more dearly, acknowledge his presence in the world.
Thus the adventure begins of Naruto’s quest to overcome difficulties, make new friends, earn some respect and to become the next Hokage.

I’ve heard alot about this series over the last few months, it’s recent showing on Jetix has given me the oppertunity to see what everyone was going on about.
I’m surprised, it’s nowhere near as good as i thought it would be from all the hype i’ve been hearing. But all i discovered was a series similar to Dragonball in many respects, personally i’ve moved on some way since Dragonball interested me.
Naruto is indeed a series which could be the next Pokémon style craze but i just don’t think it’s for me.

its so badly edited *thanks to jetix* that even 4kids could have even done a better job! (and they managed to ruin the likes of onepiece :[ ). Things like tabbaco, fighting, blood, references to death and the word ‘killing’ have been censored or even taken out like they took out most of the demon bro fight in episode 6.
if you really want to see what the hype is about then watch the subs which can be found on the internet or even wait till naruto unleashed is released… seriously never, ever judge a anime by its dub, watch the original because that is how it was supposed to be, end of story
naruto is aimed at teenagers but jetix managed to turn it into almost the next pokemon due to their terrible editing >.

This is kind of what I feared, that the terrible mess Jetix has turned Naruto into has put off potential viewers. Naruto is a really great show, the dub is awful in the fact they are taking out all the mastermind plot and careful editing done in the original which provides an excellent series of shocks, laughs and intensity that Jetix can’t handle. Its like putting a lamb to the wolves.
