Capcom (creators of the acclaimed zombie-slashing Resident Evil series) are throwing more undead action our way this year. In Dead Rising you play Frank West, a photojournalist stranded in a zombie-infested shopping mall for 72 hours. Sound like a certain movie(s)?The gameplay is very open ended, with a reported 250+ zombie bashing weapons (From shotguns to park benches, battle axes to toy light sabres) and numerous survivors to save. Frank can level up and learn new skills by completed missions (or ‘cases’) or by taking juicy photographs of the crazy undead. The player can loot the shops inside the mall, suiting up in a variety of different garbs, stocking up on weapons and eating and drinking to keep himself alive.
Dead Rising is set to come out on August the 8th in the US and September the 8th in the UK. There’s been no official word so far as to whether the game will be region coded or not, so keep your eyes peeled.
