With Super Mario 3 being hailed as the best 2D platformer ever created Nintendo were under pressure to ensure a strong launch title for the SNES. Super Mario World was born with all new abilities and worlds to explore making full use of the SNES’s power.
With bright, vibrant worlds, cheerful music and beautifully balanced gameplay it is still one of the best 2D platformers to date. If you remember the first time you picked up an N64 pad and played Mario 64 it was a similar feeling for this title. Simple seminal.
